Project Type: Industrial Demolition
Project Value: $1,000,000-$1,500,000
Scope of Work:
As part of a recent emissions upgrade, EHG was contracted by AMEC (Power Division) to remove a previously decommissioned Electrostatic Precipitator and associated input and exhaust ducts from deep within the existing facility. The work was performed during a plant shutdown working continuously as a 24-hour operation over fifteen days. The area was confined on all sides requiring the components to be torched in place and hand demolished. Due to the overhead clearance constraints by other plant structures, a monorail system was used to move material by chain hoists and trollies until the material was accessible by crane. In total, over 450 tons of material was removed from the work area. EW Brown generating station is positioned outside Harrodsburg Kentucky and is a significant contributor to Kentucky Utilities.
